Dario Dr.Pepper Maggiore (artwork below)… frames his artwork in unique ways, that are very similar to the idea i have for the illustrations in the book. Rather than working in a rectangular shape constantly, i would like to shape the scenes in abstract/organic frames.
Picturebook
Yesterday, at Border’s Bookstore on Broad street, a lightbulb went on. I read a book called “Illustrating Children’s Books: Creating Pictures for Publication” by Martin Salisbury. This book really turned the light on for me. It talked about Picturebooks and Storybooks and the difference between the two.
